When Black Disabled Scholars & Activists Die

When Black Disabled Scholars & Activists Die

(For us to keep their work alive)
By Leroy Moore

They work in isolation
Ripples becomes waves
Spreading across earth and sea
For future generations

When Black Disabled Scholars & Activists Die

Who will rise
To continue to write and fight
To keep their work in the public eye
Everything begins with one then becomes many
Life is more about us and less about I

When Black Disabled Scholars & Activists Die

Do we take the time
To learn about their life
And question why they are not in our books
Or do we just return to our own routine

When Black Disabled Scholars & Activists Die

Where is their memorial
Time goes on
There are spider webs on their tombstones
Their work and words who will own
